LEARN COMIC BOOK INKING with Marvel and DC Comics Artist Roy Richardson

All artists interested in comics should join us for an exciting workshop with a great comic book artist, Roy Richardson!. Roy will do a talk about his work and his art techniques followed by a Q&A session. There will be time for you to do inking with Roy’s guidance. This workshop is limited attendance and costs $25. All aspiring writers should join us for an exciting workshop with writer Bobby Nash! This workshop will explore the various paths to publication, including self-publishing, traditional publishing, small presses, ebooks, hybrids, and more. Various means of approaching each type of publisher will be covered.This workshop is limited attendance and costs $25. Meet Maximus the Eagle Owl, live and in person! Maximus, soon to be the star of his own graphic novel, is from Rise Raptor, Inc, a non-profit educational organization for Raptors (Birds of Prey). LEARN ABOUT WRITING DIALOGUE with Novelist and Comics Writer Dan Jolley

All aspiring writers should join us for an exciting workshop with a truly transmedia writer: Dan Jolley! The workshop topic is: “DIALOGUE, DIALOGUE, DIALOGUE: Comparisons and Techniques Across Novels, Comic Books, and Video Games” This workshop is limited attendance and costs $25. Eat from a unique geek-inspired menu as you enjoy our 1st annual MAID CAFE from Happy Tummy! What’s a Maid Cafe? HCC’s Maid Cafe will be located a special section of Happy Tummy restaurant. It will be staffed by Cosplayers acting in character. The characters are anime and superhero (Marvel and DC) themed. There will be a geek-themed menu uniquely created for the con! And it’s a kid-friendly event. More details will be posted HERE soon.

LEARN TO SUCCEED AT YOUTUBE with YouTube Sensation Yumi King

Join us for an exciting workshop with a unique internet personality and internet influencer, Yumi King! For the first time, Yumi has kindly offered to share her story of YouTube success with fellow creatives. The workshop will be invaluable for any YouTube creator or artist who wants to learn more about how to spread the word about their work online. This workshop is limited attendance and costs $30. North Alabama Cosplayer’s Club Panel. Are you looking for information on cosplay and what it is? Learn what cosplay is and the different types of cosplay, where you can cosplay, and where you can find cosplay supplies and support. Most importantly, we’ll tell you what NACC does and how you can become a member! Location: Studio #1039 (Huntsville STEAM Works)

Dan Jolley Panel. A Q&A session with DC and Marvel Comics writer, novelist, and Video Game writer Dan Jolley! Location: Studio #150 (Past Entrance/Dealers Room on 1st Floor)

North Alabama Cosplayers Club Cosplay 101 Panel – We will cover a introduction to what cosplay is and the different types of cosplays, locations and sites for purchasing cosplay supplies, and a basic discussion on the many types of cosplay materials and their uses. Location: Studio #1039 (Huntsville STEAM Works)

Alex Burns Cosplay Makeup Demo. In a fun and informative demo, makeup artist and costumer Alex Burns will show you how to apply a camera ready makeup look. He will show you how to use film quality makeup products and techniques that you can apply to your cosplay. Come and learn the skills and techniques that are used in film to make your cosplays camera ready. Location: Located in Studio #1039 on the 1st floor (Huntsville Steam Works)

Cosplay Contest Pre-Show. This year we have an exciting pre-show event for the Cosplay Contest: The Saber Legion – the International Saber Combat Organization – will present a LIVE DUEL demonstration! Learn all about how these matches work! Also in attendance will be two members of the officially-recognized Star Wars 501st LEGION STORM TROOPERS in attendance! The Raffle Winners will also be announced at the end of the demonstration. Stay in your seats because the Cosplay Contest is on the same stage! Location: Cosplay Stage in the Second Floor Gallery (near Suzy’s Pops)

5 – 5:45 PM

Cosplay Contest. Stay in your seats from the Cosplay Pre-Show and get pumped up for the 3rd Annual HCC Cosplay Contest! Once again hosted by actor Chris Burns, and featuring the return of the popular PET COSPLAY category, our Contest should be more exciting than ever! Watch as many great Cosplayers compete for cash and prizes. This is our show’s largest event, so don’t miss it! To see pictures and find out more about the Contest and Pre-Show, click HERE.
