Former glamour model/actress turned writer Jocelyn Potter brings a fresh perspective to the world of comic books with her upcoming graphic novel Trophy Girls, a unique spin on the entertainment industry as seen through the eyes of a former player on the scene.
The story of Jocelyn Potter really begins as the tale of two twins. Born in San Antonio, Texas, two minutes after her twin sister, she was raised by a single father, a computer programmer contracted by the U.S. military. Inheriting an unbridled entrepreneurial spirit and a love of all things sci-fi and Star Trek from her father, these characteristics exerted a powerful influence on Jocelyn, igniting a passion inside her to pursue a career in the arts and entertainment field.
Following her entrepreneurial spirit and her creative passion, she embarked on a successful career in various sectors of entertainment. Her accomplishments range from developing a variety/comedy program for public television in Dallas, to a successful career in the film industry in Los Angeles. Working as an actress, she appeared with her twin Crystal in several films, television shows and media outlets, with credits including Bare Wench: The Final Chapter (2005), The Mummy’s Kiss: 2nd Dynasty (2006), and The Lusty Busty Babe-a-que (2008). They’ve also appeared on The Howard Stern Show, Discovery Channel, and Playboy.
She has also worked as a glamour and spokesmodel, representing various companies and organizations at major events. She partnered with major amplifier manufacturer Ampeg at the 2003 NAMM Show, as well as the renowned Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy Camp.
Jocelyn has been able to translate her various creative ideas into viable and successful ventures; she wrote her own series, The Deciders, which debuted at the 2009 HeroesCon in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her multifaceted experience in entertainment has launched her creative experience as a comic book writer. She has found her inspiration with the written word, and has enjoyed exploring her talent in writing scripts, web articles, and several short stories. She is currently working on a new ebook, Bible Versus: The Virgin Mary vs. God, a tongue-in-cheek, modern spin on spousal and child support issues.
Her background and experience in both her professional and personal life has given her a unique inspiration for her comic book adventures. Jocelyn resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her twin. In her spare time she plays Heroclix, read comic books, and watches Japanese anime (also collecting original cels from Dragonball Z).
